The Hebrew Movement, Part 3 10.2007
Part 3
"I will rouse your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and make you like a warrior's sword. Then the LORD will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightning. The Sovereign LORD will sound the trumpet; he will march in the storms of the south." (Zech 9:13-14)
The final end time battle is described in Zechariah as the battle between the sons of Zion and the sons of Greece. Notice that this passage from Zechariah is talking about the appearing of the Messiah, as the Eternal himself blows the shofar, "The Sovereign LORD will sound the trumpet; he will march in the storms of the south."
It is important to understand that all who are part of the Body of Messiah belong in Zion. We are sons of Zion. Paul wrote in Romans 11:24 that Gentile believers have been cut out of their wild olive tree, and contrary to nature have been grafted into the Jewish people's own cultivated olive tree.
"After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!"
The first time that the word Zion appears in the Bible is in 2 Sam 5:7 where it says, "David captured the fortress of Zion , the City of David." Ps 2:6 says, "I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill." The Messiah will return to Zion, to sit down on the throne of his father David, just as the angel promised Miriam (Mary). "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David." (Lk 1:32) The last words of Yeshua in the Bible also confirm this. "I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star. …Yes, I am coming soon." (Rev 22:16,20)
All who believe in the Messiah belong with the Jewish people in Zion. "…through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Messiah Yeshua." (Eph 3:6) Psalm 87 says,
"Indeed, of Zion it will be said, 'This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.' The LORD will write in the register of the peoples: 'This one was born in Zion.' Selah As they make music they will sing, 'All my fountains are in you.'" (Ps 87:5-6)
Before Yeshua returns, everything will be restored back to what was in the beginning. "To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things." (Mt 17:11) As we have stated earlier, "The assembly began as a movement in Jerusalem, became a philosophy in Greece, an institution in Rome, a culture in Europe and a business in America." It is the Greek influence which lies at the foundation of the deviance from our Hebrew roots.
Today many hungry souls are longing back to Zion where it all began as a Hebrew movement. Greek philosophy has left them empty. Roman institutionalism has robbed them of the freedom Messiah paid for. European Christian culture no longer satisfies them and American business techniques leave them empty.
George Barna stated in his latest book Revolution, that within one generation most Christians in America will no longer be members of a local church, as we know it today. In a new book called Pagan Christianity, which will be released this coming October, Barna explains that many of the standard practices in the church today has pagan origins. No wonder that many people who love God and are hungry for him, are tired of church. It is necessary that we get back to the rich nourishment from our Hebrew roots.
This is the hour for David's mighty men to arise all over the world, those that will pray until the kingdom is turned over to the son of David, and Yeshua reigns as king from Zion. "Now these are the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who gave him strong support in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king." (1 Chr 11:10)
Judaism or Christianity?
Yeshua said that the Jews worship what they do know. Gentiles do not, because salvation is from the Jews. "You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews." (Jn 4:22) The Gospel is Jewish.
The entire Bible from cover to cover is a Jewish book, written by Jews. Luke is the only exception, but he was a disciple of a Jewish apostle and Pharisee. (See Acts 23:6) "What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God." (Rom 3:1-2)
Throughout the entire Book of Acts, the disciples of Yeshua were considered to be a party line within Judaism. The Jewish leaders in Rome said to Paul towards the end of his ministry, "we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect." (Acts 28:22) See also Acts 24:14 and 26:5! The first century, apostolic faith "that was once for all entrusted to the saints" (Jude v. 3) is Jewish. Christianity, which arose one century later, is a mixture between the Bible, Greek wisdom and philosophy, and pagan customs and practices.
When Paul rebuked the Gentile believers in Corinth, he asked them a very pointed question, "Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached?" (1 Cor 14:36) The word of God originated from the Jewish people. It is from Jerusalem that the Gospel has reached all other nations. "This is what is written …repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." (Lk 24:46-47) It is time to return again to the source in Jerusalem.
It is written about the end, "'And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the LORD Almighty and to entreat him. This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'In those days ten men from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, 'Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.''" (Zech 8:22-23)
We are now living in these days, when this word is being fulfilled all over the world! People are turning towards Jerusalem in this end time period of restoration of all things. This is the Hebrew Movement prophesied in the Scriptures at the end of this age. Oh how we need to cooperate with the Eternal and faithfully pray for this movement!
The Month of Repentance
The sixth month leading up to the final great Feasts in the seventh month, which are foreshadowing the coming of the Messiah, is called Elul. Starting from the first day in this month, the shofar is blown every morning in every synagogue around the world in order to wake people up and prepare them for the great upcoming Feasts.
The shofar that is blown every morning is calling everyone to repentance. "This is why it is said: 'Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Messiah will shine on you.'" (Eph 5:14) It is believed that it was during this special month of repentance that the short ministry of John the Baptist reached its peak.
"In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea and saying, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.' This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: 'A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.''" (Mt 3:1-3)
The special period of repentance beginning on the first of Elul, lasts for 40 days ending with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which is a picture of the final salvation of Israel, when all Israel is saved. "And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: 'The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins." (Rom 11:26-27)
Prophetically speaking we are now living in teh sixth month in preparation for the coming of teh Messiah. As stated earlier, all of us who believe in the Messiah belong in Zion. Christianity is a mixture of the Bible with Greek wisdom and pagan customs and practices. God hates mixture. He wants to have a pure and mature Bride. Now is the time to repent from these things and turn towards Zion with all of our hearts so that we can be ready to meet the Messiah! Let us fast and pray for this repentance all over the world during this upcoming month, among those who confess faith in the Messiah of Israel.
Let us also during this time pray for the outpouring of the Spirit of grace and supplication on Jerusalem and the Jewish people, that will reveal the Messiah to them. The Middle East is quickly heading for another military conflict of major proportions. May the shofar cause Israel to look up and see behind them the substitute sacrifice caught in the thicket.
