Israel is experiencing a very acute problem with shortage of water, which is threatening to cause severe ecological damage. More information about the water crisis >>.
A team from Norway has found good indications of fresh flowing underground water in Israel that they believe will solve this need. They have received permission from Mekorot, the Israeli National Water Company, to continue with further planning with the intention of drilling a test well. The preliminary cost estimate for the test well is about US$144,000.
