There is extra strength to gather together with other intercessors and pray. Jesus said, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in Heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them." (Mt 18:19-20). Prayer cells, made up of two or more intercessors that regularly meet together to pray, are the backbone of The Elijah Prayer Army worldwide prayer network..

"Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons. 'Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?' says the Lord. 'Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?'" - Isa 66:8-9

"The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed and the heavens gave rain, and produced its crops." James 5:16-18

Vision
Elijah prayed for Israel during a time of unprecedented backsliding among the people. It is against the dark background of Ahab being the most wicked king in Israel that Elijah is introduced in the Bible.

As a result of Elijah's prophetic prayer ministry the fire of God fell from heaven and the people of Israel repented and cried out, "The LORD, He is God! The LORD He is God!"

Scripture tells us that in the last days God will once again restore the ministry of Elijah to prepare the way of the Lord. "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse." (Mal 4:5-6)

Yeshua also told His disciples, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things." (Matt 17:11) The Holy Spirit will be poured out upon all flesh and sons and daughters will prophecy. Like Elijah a righteous remnant will, in the midst of sin and darkness, give themselves to fervent, unceasing prayer, until the fire falls from heaven and turns the Jewish people to God.

Israel gave birth to the church in the first century. It is the calling and destiny of the church to give birth to Israel in the last.

The Elijah Prayer Army was launched in 1996, to specifically pray for the end time revival in Israel and the Middle East that will prepare the second coming of Messiah. We invite you to stand with us and thousands of other intercessors around the world, joining together in intercession as watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem.

At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: "O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again." Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, "The LORD—he is God! The LORD—he is God!" (IKing 18:36-39)
